5/8 cup wheat germ
5/8 cup non-fat milk powder

Cat Tuna Pops
Ingredients
1 can tuna in spring water

Directions
Drain liquid from tuna into small bowl or cup. Pour tuna liquid into small ice cube trays (cocktail ice cube trays work nicely, as well as little square pill boxes available at most drug stores) and freeze. Give no more than 2 cubes at a time as a treat. Reuse your can of drained tuna by placing it in an airtight container and covering with filtered water overnight for a second batch of tuna-pop water.

Bird Pudding

2 cups fine yellow cornmeal
1 jar baby food sweet potatoes
1 jar baby food applesauce
1 carrot, grated
1/2 cup fruit flavored pellets
3-4 cups boiling water

Directions
Bring water to a boil. Gradually add cornmeal and stir until pudding starts to thicken. Add pellets, small jars of baby food and return to a boil. If mixture is too watery, add more cornmeal. Serve warm to your birds. Refrigerate for 3-4 days or freeze leftovers.

Tasty Bird Treat Balls

1 pound of lard
1 jar of peanut butter
5 cups corn meal

Mix pureed carrot, mashed banana, and honey in a medium bowl. Add ground pellets and oats. Mix until blended. Knead with hands for 1-2 minutes. Roll out the “dough” into a 1/8 -1/4 inch thickness between sheets of plastic wrap. Cut into small cookies approximately 3/4 inch in diameter. Place cookies onto a parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes or until browned. Turn off the heat and let cookies sit in the warm oven for an additional hour.
*Can substitute carrot with apple or pear.

Whole wheat bread crumbs
